Simply the best. Service can be slow sometimes but you need to remember the food is all prepared fresh and all homemade! Except the fries I think? Anyways, while we wait for our food we have a couple beers which I'd like to add are fantastic beyond words! The brewmaster knows what he is doing! I wish they bottled or sold growlers of the beer! The food is always worth waiting for and always cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back!!

really good food; tables are put in there tight in order to try and accommodate more seating. They made a 4-top table into a 6-top by putting two chairs on each end causing it to be rather tight with our group. The crab cake sandwich was fantastic; the beer cheese was fantastic

We came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with a friend and his 4 year old son. It took a long time to be seated, and we received mixed messages. One server asked us to wait. We waited 5 minutes. Then, another server told us to seat ourselves. The restaurant, by the way, was relatively empty. The waitress did take the child's order first, and his pizza arrived within 10 minutes. We proceeded to wait for 40 minutes for 2 burgers and a turkey sandwich. The waitress was very nice and apologetic. She said the new cook had messed up our orders. To the restaurant's credit, the waitress let us just pay for the pizza and comped our drinks. I wish I could have tried my beer cheese burger. It sounded delicious. I appreciated how kind the waitress was hence the 2 star instead of 1 star review.

We ate at the cafe as we had our children with us. Decor is country/woodsy in side. Very clean and bright. Ordered the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer as well as the calamari. Pretzel was delicious and was devoured by my two boys. Calamari seems to be frozen and wasn't very good. I ordered the fish & chips and enjoyed it. The beer batter was crispy and not greasy. My wife had the crab & lobster burger. She enjoyed it minus the bun as that is a lot of carbs. My sons both had burgers and wolfed them down. All in all a pretty good restaurant with really good beer brewed in premises.

Limited selection of beers. Out of a couple of beers. No wi-fi. I had the Beer cheese slider. Would like again. The best Onion Rings I have have had in a longtime.

The bacon and cheddar burger was great. Cooked to a proper medium and still juicy. Had some of that char-grilled flavor I like so much ! The house kettle chips were good too. Still warm, crunchy and salted just right. Their Beauclair Blonde Ale is an okay craft brew and I was surprised that they would even consider selling 2.5 glasses. Never seen that one done before. Our Server Danni (sp?) was super. Attentive, accurate and personable and got the food to us in reasonable time. This dinner visit was at 4:30 Saturday so perhaps at later dinner times there may be issues (reading the other reviews here) but we didn't experience any negatives! I was assured the Turkey Reuban and the Chicken Bacon Brie were "would do again" entrees.

This place was phenomenal and completely blew me away. First off, we walked in the front door and looked around at an empty dining room that felt like something my grandmother would decorate, it was cute but not what I had envisioned. Our server informed us that they also had what they called the taproom so we decided to check it out and ended up eating there, it had a much better vibe IMO and was more lively. You're also surrounded by the huge beer containers that they use to brew which is cool and they had great live music last Wednesday night when we checked it out! This is a brewery after all, so we HAD to try the beer and the Blonde Ale and the Dirty Blonde did not disappoint. They were awesome and blew Orlando Brewing's beer out of the water. Do yourself a favor and stop here for a beer! The food was just as great as the beer. We started with the homemade pretzels and the beer cheese which were out of this world good and we devoured them. Salmon wellington was to die for and the ribeye was huge and so flavorful. To top it all off, our sever was a sweetheart! Will definitely go out of our way to stop here again soon.

This this the best spot in Lake County for killer craft beers and phenomenal food. And it's so much more reasonably priced than anywhere else. Let me start by saying their own brewed beers are top notch. I highly recommend their Irish Red and their porter. The porter which tops out at 9.9% abv is just amazing. It's so smooth tasting that it's easy to forget that you're drinking a beer with that high of an alcohol content. The food, OMG, just can't be beat for the price. I started with the pretzels and beer cheese. It was incredibly good. Better than any other brew pub I've eaten at, by far. I then had the chicken bacon brie sandwich and wow just wow. That's all I can say. Just stop reading this review and go there, you won't be disappointed. It's a hidden gem of Mt Dora.

We are in the taproom. The food and beer were good. We enjoyed the band although it did get loud. The atmosphere was not what we expected and could use improvement. The dining room was empty and looked as though it didn't belong to the same place and the taproom was packed.

After having awful service at another establishment in downtown Mount Dora, I was extremely happy to stumble upon this place and have exceptional service. I believe our waitress' name was Jamie and she was great. She greeted us immediately and made us feel like we were regulars, even though it was our first time there. We started off in the dining room and we all ordered the beer sampler. I enjoyed all of the beers, but the Rabbit Pellet Porter was by far everyone's favorite. You got six, 5 oz. beers for $8.00, with all beers being between 7% and 9.9%. The tap room opened up at 3:00, so we made our way over there after our sampler to check it out and we were greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly and got us our beers right away. He let us know about the beer garden and barn out back which we went to check out (unfortunately it was a rainy day so we couldn't enjoy it) and that they also have live music on Saturday and Sunday evenings starting around 8:00. Would love to check that place out when the live music is happening. I plan on going back again soon when I'm back in the Mount Dora area. Great place and would definitely recommend it.

Imagine walking in to your grandparents' home. Antiques on the walls, the scent of a wonderful home cooked meal wafting through the air. Then imagine your grandparents' home with awesome local-brewed beer. JACKPOT! When we arrived for lunch, the brewery area was not yet open, which was fine, as we were ready to eat. The cafe area is charming, with a huge rocking rabbit in the middle of the dining room. Our server was super friendly and helpful, and suggested we not only try the flight in order to sample all of their brewed offerings, but she also mentioned having to restrict herself from eating too much of their house-made beer cheese. She is actually on a beer cheese restricted diet. Which of course meant that we all had to give it a go. It is a good thing I do not live closer, as I would gain at least 100 pounds due to the beer cheese. It is the best thing ever. EVER, I tell you! Whether it was slathered on my slider burger, eaten with their homemade chips, or just licked off my finger (hey, don't judge!), it was by far, our group's favorite part of the meal. Besides the beer cheese, the regular dip that comes with the chips is awesome as well. I don't usually order a burger, but really enjoyed the beer cheese slider. I think it would even be enjoyable without the beer cheese (but why would I do that?!) A friend and I decided to split a flight, as we were planning to walk around downtown Mount Dora after and didn't want to drink too much with the lovely summer heat. My favorites were the Rabbit Pellet Porter and the Beauclair Blonde Ale. The Dora Drawdy Drool was good, but a little rich for me. I believe the flight amounts to about 2 pints, so not bad if you are looking to sample for taste. I would probably order a pint of the Beauclair Blonde next time. I really cannot wait to come back and not only indulge in all the beer cheese and beer in the world, but try out some more of their delicious offerings. Ps- If you ask, they will let you sit on the rocking rabbit to take a picture. I was going to, but the dining room was filling up and didn't want to be the butt of their jokes for the rest of the day if (when) I fell off it trying to capture a selfie.

I credit Yelp for discovering this little gem! My friends and I had planned a day trip to Mount Dora. Because I am such a Yelpaholic, I started doing searches weeks prior to find things to do and see and bookmark. This place popped up on my Yelp searches and had really great reviews so after running it by the girls and getting their approval, we planned to hit it up for lunch before exploring Mount Dora's Downtown area. Not sure about the actually brewery spot but we only saw the restaurant portion of this establishment. When you walk in, you are greeted by a huge wooden carved statue of Dora the Rocking Rabbit (get it, Mount Dora??). The hostess/waitress extraordinaire was super friendly and told us the history of the restaurant/brewery and that the owner used to do woodwork and actually carved Dora with his bare hands!! It's actually pretty impressive work and they do encourage pictures with Dora. The menu is pretty lengthy. The majority of my group ordered off the lunch specials menu which was a great value. I opted to veer off and ordered a baja turkey burger. It was really good and hearty. It was dressed with avocado, provolone cheese, pico de gallo and a nice jalapeno ranch with a "kick" but definitely not spicy at all. On the side were their house made kettle chips which added that nice crunch. I opted for a cider since they were out of lambic and were waiting for another shipment. 2 of my friends split a beer flight so that's a great option if you want to try different beers but not get completely hammered. And some of my friends requested sides of sour cream dip and also the housemade beer cheese. I was able to snag some from a friend to dip my chips in. So good. That beer cheese was extra creamy and smooth- perfect complement to the chips. The restaurant itself isn't anything fancy and kinda has that country, down home feel. Overall, everyone was super happy with their food, drinks, the service. We would gladly come back again. I especially liked that it was off the beaten path and we didn't have to deal with the crowds if we ate Downtown. Bookmark this place. NOW.

We stopped in to get some lunch at 11:47AM on a Saturday and were told that we couldn't order lunch until 12:00. So we left. The menu looked good but there was a funky smell inside the building.

A good breakfast option in Mt Dora, especially when everything else is closed! The coffee was flavorful and my omelette was tasty. No complaints here!

I won't bore you with a long story about why I came here. I will say that I ordered the lobster burger with a beer flight in the restaurant and then headed over to the tap room to enjoy another beer. All of their brews tasted delicious. My favorite was the Dowdy Drool.

There's another reasonably priced and tasty eating establishment in Mount Dora, woohoo! First things first, the location. There are three separate areas one can sit in, but in all you still get the same menu and service. The bar area is a first-come, first-served deal with tables and a long bar and is located on the right side of the establishment. The cafe is on the left side, takes reservations and is open for lunch. The beer garden is out back (easy to get to from the cafe) and is pretty standard with stringed lights, patio umbrellas, and some greenery. I visited with a group of 8 to celebrate a friend's big 3-0 and was pretty excited to try the beer. We had made reservations but managed to find room in the bar area where live music was playing that night. Overall the lighting is pretty low and it can get crowded, but we were tucked away by the tanks and near a light source. The food was quite good. We tried the Pretzels and Beer Cheese, which I agree is the appetizer to try. The pretzels were hot and fluffy, and the beer cheese was really, really delicious. Salty, savory, and gooey. Mmmmmm. I had a Wedge Salad for my entree and was pleased with the presentation, size, and freshness of ingredients. The beer was to be the hit of the evening but ended up being more hit-and-miss. The sampler is a great way to try the beers they brew themselves, and it's large enough to split with a couple other people too. The beer: Beauclair Blonde Ale - A good, cloudy blonde ale that was about the middle of the road. Dora Drawdy Drool - This is a mix of the blonde and red and was the least popular beer at the table. The red ale had a musky, mildewy quality that was off-putting. Rockin' Rabbit Red Ale - Like I said above, something tasted off about this beer. I wouldn't order it. Dirty Blonde - This one was okay, kind of quirky since it's a mix of the blonde and porter. Rabbit Pellet Porter - This one was the second most popular because it tasted almost identical to the Pistolville Porter. You couldn't taste the red ale very much, and it wasn't as rich as the Pistolville. Pistolville Porter - This was my favorite of their beers. It was toasty, rich, and had coffee notes. Overall I had a positive experience, but the beer isn't so good that I would eat here just for it. The service is solid and it has a fun atmosphere, so I do recommend trying it if you're curious.

Support local business and get some great food and good beer! This place has a very laid back and unique vibe, with a touch of country-industrial atmosphere. In a small town like Mount Dora, this a definitely an option to check out. I really enjoyed my crab and lobster burger on a nice soft roll, with broccoli slaw (see pic). The gf had the coconut and panko crusted salmon, which was also good (see pic, not ours, but it looked like that). I suggest getting the raspberry sauce on the side, as it was a bit sweet, which brings me to the beer. I had a flight of the beer, and it's a bit sweet for my taste, all 6 varieties, but it is good, and my gf loved it. She usually doesn't like beer, so that's a huge plus. If you're in Mount Dora, and you like supporting local, I would absolutely give Rocking Rabbit a try.

On a road trip. Fantastic find. We shared a Lobster Crabcake burger and a Beer Cheese burger. OMG. So tasty. So many restaurants could take a lesson. Beer was great also. Had a sampler of 6 beers. Hope to stop here again on our next trip.

This place was great. We walked around the shops and stopped early on a Sunday. It was empty at first. We got a beer sampler. My wife loved the blonde ale and I was a big fan of the red ale. There was also Cigar City IPA on tap. Yum. While waiting for our food, we had a killer game of jenga. We got our sandwiches and the chicken club and the Cuban were excellent. The service was great and the owner was super friendly. We talked about brewing and he even pointed out some cool parts of central FL to check out while visiting. The jam session was just starting as we left. Very neat place.

All of the Mount Dora locals know about this place, so this review is really targeted at the tourists. My husband and I live in Orlando and were looking to get away for the weekend. We just jumped in the car and researched some good places in Mount Dora to hit up en route. We're so happy we didn't skip this place- you might as well consider the operation a large-scale home brewery. The owner/brewer/woodworker Jeff Herbst is extremely nice- he chatted with us extensively and shared the story of how he got the place going. The beer is not super-hopsy, which was a huge plus for me- I felt that the flavor was much more easily distinguished without the hops distracting my tastebuds. Herbst really has put blood, sweat, tears, and tons of laughter into his brewery. Everything from the ceilings to the decor, the yummy comfort food, and the house-made brew struck us as unique and worth coming back to over and over again. The rocking rabbit is one of Jeff's own creations- he put hundreds of hours into carving it out! Give this place a visit, you won't be sorry!

I'm sorry to have to do this because I believe some like this place. I visited with a friend for the first time on July 24 and ordered the spinach and avocado panini. My experience with paninis is that they are served on bread that is somewhat crusty and substantial enough to hold the ingredients. This panini was a huge sloppy thing, too messy to eat, the overabundance of creamy spread spilling out all over the plate. I didn't want to embarrass my friend, who had recommended the paninis. So, I didn't say anything, but ordered dessert because I was still hungry. I took home the uneaten portion for the same reason I didn't complain. When I got home, I threw away the sandwich and called the restaurant, spoke to the owner, Jeff, and was surprised when he told me he was sorry he couldn't do anything because he doesn't have the sandwich to see. My lunch was $18.97 for sandwich, Pepsi and chocolate cake, which I only ordered so I wouldn't leave hungry...plus a $3.00 tip for Megan, who was very nice. That's what I call customer no-service. $21.97 to lose a customer for life and all the friends she could have told. Shame on you, Rocking Rabbit. I will not return. Mary F.

I really loved this place! I went with my boyfriend for his birthday and their brews are really good. The only thing is that if you're not getting one of their brews you only have domestics to choose from (Bud, Budlight, Miller, etc.) could have changed now, who knows. We had their IPA and their blonde and sampled their stout, all were good. The space is nice, very warm and cozy and the band they had playing there was fun and good. If we're ever in the area again we're def going back!

Ok this place just opened this year. Owned by the same guy that made furniture out of the same location for years. His wife bartends and I saw the brother doing dishes. I think it is only open Friday and Saturdays. They have these huge casks in the front window for the beer making (obviously) and I wish I had one. Prices are reasonable about $3 for a localy made pint. They also serve Orlando Brewing Co beers from the tap so it adds a little variety. I really hope this place does well, it seems to stay busy on the nights its open. the only reason I don't give it five stars is he is still refining the beer making process and while the beers are great they don't have any Brown Ales, mostly blondes so far and I think a Porter is in the works. Look forward to some new beers they seem to update the website often so check i'll see you there (I'm probably the only person under 30 that goes there). Cheers.

I try to visit breweries anywhere local to where I am, and I had to stop by after visiting the art festival. I'm so glad I did! The place was built in the 20s, and looks like an old barn or wood work shop inside. It's smaller, but not cramped. The brewing tanks are right in the main room, and there's a beer garden with cornhole around the back. I believe there's a dining room that's open for dinner as well, but we were there just for the beer. We didn't try the food, but it did look very delicious. The beer, while only 3 in-house beers, was very good. They're all very strong (I believe all over 7%), and made with care and consistency. The brewmaster, Jeff, was there, taking care of the entire place and doing every job he could help out with. He was very friendly and willing to talk about his beers and business. I liked the mix of the red and the stout, personally. Add this to one of the hidden gems of the area and try and visit if you get the chance when you're in town!

The beer was OK the service was up and down, but slow. The food was pretty bad. We ordered a kid's pizza, which was jar sauce on a square pita flatbread, which was the best thing we ordered. We had the onion rings, which were OK. Then there was the Brie and the pretzel stick with beer cheese. The brie was not good at all, more blah than bad. The beer cheese was horrible the tang was either intentional or food poisoning. We will see. Never going back, except for a brewery tour. The pics of the taproom look great.

This place is a hidden treasure! Being such huge beer fans, we finally made it to Mount Dora Brewing on a recent Friday night around 9pm. The place was PACKED!!! The focal point being the AMAZING band - the Brewery Boys. I want to say it was a 5-piece band, and the music was incredible. There were tons of people dancing, including everyone working there behind the bar! The band was so impressive, it was on par with something you'd hear at a big, fancy event. We only stayed for one beer (the red) and it was pretty good! They do have other Orlando Brewing beers on tap but we wanted to try the beer they brewed there. Love the family-owned feel and comfortable environment. We got there at 9pm and just missed out on being able to order food from the Saucy Spoon next door, which looked delicious judging by our neighbors plates. The median age is probably 50 years old, but you don't really tend to notice with the place being so fun and everyone in such a lively mood. Can't wait to go back! We definitely wish they were open more days of the week. Their hours are as follows: Friday & Saturday - 3pm to 11pm Sunday - 12:30pm to 6pm Monday - 6pm to 11pm (this is when the band practices which I'm sure would be a blast)

Sunday was a great day to head to Mount Dora Brewing for some lunch and some fresh craft brews. My wife and I ordered the six beer sample tray and a pint of the Rabbit Red. The Beauclair Blonde Ale is quite good and a bit different than most blonde ales. It has a wonderful brown sugar overtone and is roastier than most blondes. We decided to share the wedge salad and the fish sandwich with a side of onion rings. I can't stress enough how wonderful it all was. The portions are huge. The salad was worthy of a fancy steak house. The fish was golden brown and delicious, the tartar sauce was spot on with a hint of cardamon, and the roll was fresh and tasty. Our oversized onion rings were excellent dipped in the chili infused remaloud sauce. I'm looking forward to returning for more food. Back to the beer. Next up was the Dora Draw do Drool which is a blend of the blonde ale and the red ale. Easy drinking and refreshing. Third beer on the plate was Rockin' Rabbit Red Ale. Another nice and easy drinking beer. Dirty Blonde was the forth beer of the flight. Again easy drinking. Reminds me of a nice brown ale without being too malty. The fifth sample of the day was the Rabbit Pellet Porter (love the name). I'm not easy to please when it comes to porters since it's my favorite. It was pretty good. Not big enough for me , but easy drinking. Last up was Pistolville Porter. Favorite of the flight. Real nice porter with nice coffee notes. We will definitely return when we find ourselves in Mount Dora again. Awesome food and nice beer.

We regularly stop in on the weekend for burgers and sandwiches. The food is amazing and the beers brewed on site are pretty tasty as well. If the weather is nice, the garden out back is very pleasant. I've only been in the bar once - neat decor, but it gets mobbed when they have live music and the service and food suffers.

    (5)
  • Jeanette N.

My group are regulars here, so here's some tips. If you want seating for the live music, try to be in and seated for dinner by 6:30. The band selection ranges from quite good to best in the county, so it fills up fast. Everything you've read about the beer cheese is true, but I like the mahi with mango salsa, and the pork tenderloin is very nice as well. If you get seating in the pub but don't order until close to 8, it will take awhile to get the food. Drink the beer and relax! The porter is very good. I have taken my teens to see music in this venue several times and feel it is family friendly. The beer garden is nice and the music is piped outside, so you can overflow there if you have a large group, or want conversation. Finally, folks dance and have fun together here. You'll make friends and leave with a happy tummy.

My favorite local restaurant. Staff is friendly. Food is great. The restaurant is comfortable and clean. It has an outdoor patio. Best burger i have ever had was the beer cheese burger. Homemade potato chips. Try the beer sampler to find what you like.

We waited for this place to open after a day on the lake only to realize the hours on Yelp were wrong (I have since updated). Hence we caught them at a strange time of switching over from one side of the building to the other. We were shuffled through the Cafe, to the outside Beer Garden and finally to the Brewery/bar side. I liked the brewery side the best out of the three locations. The room was dark and intimate with lots of wood, eclectic decor and of course the brewing equipment. It was early (3pm) so we were the only diners on this rainy Saturday. Once finally settled we ordered a flight of 8 of their craft beers brewed on site. The owner, Jeff Herbst, advised us that they'd had a batch of the porter go bad so three of their six were not available. We swapped them out for other brews on tap to complete our flight. Both my husband and I agreed that there wasn't a bad brew on the flight! Our favorites were the Rocking Rabbits brews. My overall fave was the Rocking Rabbit Red Ale which was smooth and smelled vaguely like maple syrup. Jeff told us that he uses Orange Blossom Honey to sweeten that particular ale. It was delicious! Food was very good as well. We ordered the sweet potato puffs ($5.99) for an app which, are, like they sound, are basically a sweet potato tater tot. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?! They were wonderful with a little salt and ketchup. I thought they would have been even better with some kind of brown sugar dipping sauce. I ordered a lobster/crab sandwich ($10.99) with lettuce, tomato and remoulade sauce- it's not on the regular menu. It was a bit pricey but was very good. It wasn't spicy at all- which was good for me. The sandwiches come with freshly fried potato chips- they are nice and crispy. Hubby ordered black and blue sliders ($9.99) which I sampled. They were juicy and had a nice flavor. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. They are kid-friendly too. My son was happy with his grilled cheese but got possessive over those sweet potato puffs! Service was decent. Our food was ready quick and served fresh and hot. Our server didn't seem to have much experience with the menu and had "to check" in response to some of our questions. She was friendly and did a good job otherwise. I was teetering on the line between a 4 and 5 star rating until the owner sat down and chatted with us at length. He seems like a good guy with a genuine passion. What a pleasant surprise to find this lively, youthful place amongst the otherwise sometimes stuffiness of Mount Dora. This will be the place we bring out of town guests looking for local flavor. We can't wait to come back (minus the kiddos) for some of their live music! Or bring the kids back for a weekend breakfast! ** as an update we have since returned for breakfast and enjoyed it very much. The service was fairly slow and the food took quite a while to appear but once it did it was delicious. The ingredients are FRESH. I had a shrimp and tomato omelet with hollandaise sauce. The hubs had a spinach, feta and mushroom omelet. We both got a side of the hashbrowns which were cheesy, just greasy enough and wonderful. The hashbrowns are better than the grits which were average. The bacon was just ok, I'd try the sausage next time.

We were looking forward to eating here and went on a Monday for lunch. There was no one to greet us and we didn't know if it was a "sit anywhere" or wait for someone so eventually we sat ourselves. There was only ONE person waiting tables and while the restaurant didn't seem to be too busy he was completely overwhelmed and griping about it. What kind of management has only one person waiting tables at noon? Stupid. One couple left in obvious frustration. We waited 45 minutes after ordering, never saw our server again and had no choice but to leave and go find another place to eat, which we did. Who knows how many other people left but we were a party of 4 and the other was a party of 2. That's 6 meals that have to be thrown out. That's not a good way to run a business. Sorry Rocking Rabbit, maybe when management changes we'll give you another try but you've gotta step up and get some help hired. I've got better things to do than wait around for a lunch that's never going to show up.

So we were warned by multiple locals that the food is great but the beer is terrible. My husband loves beer though so off we went. He ordered the sampler and couldn't even finish the beers. The flip side was that I loved them...but I don't like beer. We then wanted to start with the beer cheese that everyone raved about only to be told they didn't make any today? At that point my husband was completely turned off of the place and we got the check and headed out. The food may be great but we will never know.

Beer was tasty. Not a huge selection... but it was good. There is a sampler that you could get with 6 different beers. I'd recommend that. Live music was also a nice touch. Great service.

I was recently in this small-town brewery and café. I had a grilled chicken salad with Ranch dressing. Although I can definitely compare this salad to a salad at a McDonalds in my hometown, the service here was spectacular, and the food was just as delicious. Made fresh with meet that's tender. Although they do serve many choices of beer, you don't have to buy beer to come here. They do have several soda types. The only drawback I noticed, is that this place is a bit overpriced, but I was coming with a group where the group's head person paid the bill, so I wasn't worried too much about the money. I definitely did like the atmosphere. The historic horse in the dining area of the café gave it an appealing atmosphere. The waiter, Megan, described the history of the horse, though most of this information "passed in one ear and out the other, not stopping to pass through my brain", so I seemed to have forgotten.

We visited a couple weeks later and it was like night and day. Granted they were significantly busier, but the food other than taking almost an hour to get to the table came out in shifts with extremely long intervals between delivery. Leaving two of our party not receiving their food until others were all most finished. One of the people who got their food last was a child! What did come out was terrible. The homemade chips were soggy, the bread on the prime rib sandwich was rock like, mostly all of what was served was cold; including fries and prime rib (one of their most expensive items). When we sent back only the most inedible (the prime rib and the prime rib sandwich), the owner stated the prime rib and fries were in fact still warm (?!?) The prime rib he brought back was 60% fat & the prime rib sandwich meat was the rarest of rare I've ever seen (can't help but think that was a bit of a dig from the kitchen). The worst part was instead of apologizing and trying to see what he could do to make our visit more enjoyable (possibly just giving us refills in our empty drinks), we heard that they were slammed, three people called in sick, the kitchen is small, it's hard to get food out all at the same time, everyone in the establishment ordered food at the same time & so on. All it did was make it sound like they were incapable of being a restaurant that is able to be busy. Not a good business plan. We had several former and current waitress & cooks in our party, we are one of the most understanding bunches you may come across. Every single one of us has been in that situation. However, giving us excuses as opposed to taking responsibility was the final straw. Our first visit was great, the second one could have been saved but, I don't know why we would continue to support an establishment with zero accountability, not when there are so many other places that will welcome our business.

My husband and I decided to take a drive up to Mount Dora to try the Brewery and some get some lunch. When we arrived we were quickly approached, and we decided to sit outside in the garden. After looking over the menu, we decided to share the wedge salad and the fish sandwich with a side of onion rings. I can't stress enough how wonderful it all was. The portions are huge. The salad was worthy of a fancy steak house. The fish was golden brown and delicious, the tartar sauce was spot on with a hint of cardamon, and the roll was fresh and tasty. Our over-sized onion rings were excellent dipped in the chili infused remoulade sauce. I'm looking forward to returning for more food. My husband and I ordered the six beer sample tray and a pint of the Rabbit Red. The Beauclair Blonde Ale is quite good and a bit different than most blonde ales. It has a wonderful brown sugar overtone and is roastier than most blondes. Real nice porter with nice coffee notes. patio We will definitely return when we find ourselves in Mount Dora again. Awesome food and

On a busy busy Saturday in the Mt Dora area, it's a challenge to find something local and reasonable. Mom wanted something fancy schmancy, but I wasn't up for that. When I found this place on google maps, she didn't want to go, but I convinced her to drive by. it's an unassuming little place, and it just so happened they had prime rib that night. Deal-maker! The *only* thing I would change is the entrance to the cafe/restaurant. It's very sparse and bright, and gives no clue to the porch out back or the delicious food. It looks like a take-out BBQ joint (which is exactly what we were trying to avoid!) We seated ourselves on the porch (which looks like it's furnished with FreeCycle finds), ordered a beer, and pretzels with beercheese. I had the Rabbit Pellet porter, and loved it! It's a bit stronger than what I'm used to, and I could only drink about half. The server was awesome (we talked about heart surgery), the food was delicious, and my mother found NOTHING to complain about. there's also a micro-brewery next door, with live music. I'll definitely go back!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Don't get me wrong they have amazing food and incredible homemade organic beers that are well paired with the food they serve. But, here is my issue, the service hasn't been the best, I've gone there multiple times and had to wait 15-20 mins for my next beer. I've gone there before and have been completely ignored by my server when I asked her for something as simple as an appetizer, and so one night I walked out and didn't pay for my two beers I ordered and never got my appetizer that I waited 45 mins before finally leaving.

Let me revise my first (positive) review.. I still recommend the food IF you ever get it! Service was epically horrendous. One hour and 10 minutes after ordering and just now got served. Waitress burned my wife with a coffee pot and the cook burned her French toast. So maybe you travel a few blocks north to the Highland Cafe. Disappointed.

Our family had breakfast here. It was really great. Service was so friendly! There was a wide variety of food to choose from the menu, and everything is made to order. I had the feta mushroom and spinach omelette and hubby ordered the prime rib omelette...yum yum! Coffee was good and they serve mimosas! They also substitute food items on the menu. What a nice gem...can't wait to come again.

We stopped here after after riding the local mtb trails, almost left too. It Would have been a bad choice, there brews are very good, I repear very good, I a,m not a fan of Bar food however their burger with the beer cheese dip on it was one of the best burgers I can recall, I was very impressed. Presentable, flavorful. Would I drive 1&45 again for this place yes!!! They open at 3.00(brewery part)

I've been dying to go back here for months, maybe I had anticipated it too much! Firstly, let me say my recent visit wasn't bad at all, just not as good as my first experience. It was a sunny, cool in the shade day in Mt Dora and we had worked up an appetite walking around Mt Dora. When we entered the restaurant there were a few tables occupied and no staff to be seen, we stood at the entrance for a minute, not sure whether to just find a table or wait a little longer. We decided to sit, found a table and discovered it needed to be wiped down, which we did ourselves. After waiting a little more we still didn't see anyone and my girlfriend reminded me that on our last visit we were informed they have garden seating out back so I got up went out back and discovered that was where everyone was! The young lady that appeared to be the lone wait staff was just clearing a table! I moved our party of four outside while the table was being cleared and we sat at a table with an umbrella supplying some shade in the sunshine with a nice breeze. In the patio area there are about a half dozen tables with umbrellas on a brick patio and a grassy fenced in surrounding area. I and one other in our group ordered an Angus beef burger with sautéed mushrooms and onions and pub cheese prepared with beer and freshly prepared potato chips, the same burger I ordered on my first visit. When my burger arrived it was good, but not the same as my first experience. I'm not sure what was different, perhaps not enough beer in the preparation of the cheese sauce, the buns were cold and not warmed, I suspect my burger may have been 'nuked' to keep it warm because I ordered medium rare and it was medium and the cheese had pooled under the burger bun making it messy. My friend stated his burger was good, but not 'great' and I concur! My girlfriend had a salmon burger and she said it was good as did my friends girlfriend about the wrap sandwich she had ordered. Our server was pleasant and obviously doing the best she could, there was one other staff person there and he was clearing tables and helping as best as he could too. I spoke briefly with our server and she said they had been a bit overwhelmed due to a local auction house extravaganza. We did swing by the auction after and she was correct, this event was way larger than huge! There was stuff going on as far as the eye could see, we didn't stop, it was too big! So, in closing, our visit ended as good, not great. The owners may have some staffing issues that are not the fault of the staff. As far as the food, consistency is crucial to any restaurant that wants to separate itself from a good experience and a great experience for its guests.

Even when the owner is out, the team keeps this place tight. Gotta love this place. Needs more seating. Don't add more seating! Keep it cozy.

The staff was very friendly and nice. Very attentive and answered questions. The food was ok....nothing special. The casserole had a weird flavor like garlic cream cheese.....biscuit was tough and gravy was just so so....needs work for such a small menu.

Had the kicked up grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon on it. Side of kettle chips with beer cheese to dip them in. I call that a cheese overload but very good. Fabulous service. Band is good too.

The little gem is very worth the trip. We decided to try this place out on the way to the flea market. Such a great feel to this place from the moment that you walk in.Upon walking through the door you are greeted with smiling faces and a warm atmosphere. It looks and feels as if you wondered into your grandparents house. They make 6 different in house brews and all have their subtle traits that make them great! Try the sampler! The beauclair blonde is light and refreshing but with the body of a Belgium wit. The Rockin rabbit is smooth and warm like a light porter. The pistolville porter is everything a true porter should be bold with a smooth finish. We had the chicken Cesar wrap and cuban press. The flavor on the chicken ceasr was so delicate and perfectly matched with the multi grain wrap and homemade kettle chips. We got a side of beer cheese so great light and not to salty and best suited with the kettle chips. The Cuban was amazing great crispy bread with real shredded slow roasted pork not the typical sliced bs you find. That in itself was worth the visit but paired with the rabbit red ale or the blonde makes its a real Sunday funday meal! The right blend of mustard and pickle takes this boring tradition to new bold and savory levels. I will be visiting again even though the service is slow the food is ready fast. The servers just need to pick up their heals a bit more and look at the guests not just wait for them to get their attention. This place is tucked away and set in a quite and easy going part of Mt dora. Everything is a perfect blend of simplicity and flavor which creates a great experience perfect for a easy morning or a slow afternoon. Bring your appetite for the more than generous portions and good conversation. If make sure to take your time and breathe this place will not be fast but it will be delicious and relaxing.

We were heading to Mount Dora to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I called the Brewery and spoke to a very helpful gentlemen about where to sit, hours, music and some info on the menu. I did not know then that I was speaking with the owner. He was so genuine about it all so VERY helpful! Our visit was perfect! The service was excellent, the food fun and tasty (beer cheese) and the music was amazing! My husband said it was the best burger he's had and we had a great swing dance too! All in all it was a great time. Thanks to the owner who runs a truly well run business!

I'm a huge fan of this place. I have been going to the brewery since I moved to the area a few years ago and it remains a favorite still. The beer is awesome, the atmosphere is welcoming and fun, the food is fresh, and the staff are all great. The owner makes a point to say hi and chat so you immediately feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. I can't talk this place up enough to my friends and people I meet. Get the sampler and never turn back!

This is an unassuming looking place, almost dull decor - until the food comes and you will forget what the place looks like very quickly. Let me recommend the prime rib (juicy, just rare enough and accompanied by the perfect baked potato), blackened burger ( simply delicious, juicy yet tasty, tasty) or the chicken w/Camembert and bacon (with a balsamic vinegar sauce to die for). Try the house brews - rocking rabbit red is deep and mild, Dora drool is lighter and smooth. Don't miss this place - it's not expensive, the service is great and the food is unique. The bar next door is also fun and folksy.

Nice little place, and the owners and staff were all very nice and fun to talk to. Some of the beers are pretty damn good as well, and the apps we had were tasty. If you're looking for the typical experience you get from a larger brewery it might miss the mark, but it's a fun little place to grab a bite, a pint, and have some fun with friends. I was there in the afternoon, and would really like to see what this place is like later in the day, as it has a fun looking layout...

This place has a great menu and THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD! I have been to some pretty amazing burger places, but this was amazing! The Bacon Cheddar burger and the Black & Bleu Burgers were out of this world! Great service and great draft beer selection too! Definitely a treasure in Mount Dora, FL.

Stopped in today for a quick lunch and to try one of their beers. They make about five beers in the brewery next door. I tried the pale ale and it was decent. Wouldn't take a trip out to Mt. Dora again just for the beer, but it wasn't bad either for a small brewery. They also offer a beer flight to sample all their beers for $8.00 I ordered the veggie flat bread and my husband ordered the sliders. Both of them were prepared well. In my opinion, the flat bread was a little boring seeing that it only had 3 vegetables. I think it could have been better with some balsamic dressing. Pretty small restaurant, but it wasn't busy at all when we were there. The servers are also very nice. Also, the hours posted on Yelp are wrong. The say that on Sunday they don't open until 12:30. They were opened way earlier for breakfast. Next time I find myself in Mt. Dora I will check this place out again.

Have gone by this restaurant several times while more than several times on the way to Mount Dora downtown area but I never really saw a lot of cars there but decided we try it out for breakfast this morning and it was really a treat, the waitress was very friendly, very kind, extremely personable and the food was delicious very very well-prepared and very prompt coming out to everything was warm in the portions were very respectable but more than that the service was 100% I would recommend this place to everyone. By the way our waitress this Sunday was Megan.

My husband and I have been wanting to come here for a while and finally made it in on a lazy Saturday afternoon. We were too early to eat and drink on the brewery side, as they open at 3pm. Instead we ate lunch on the cafe side. We had a very good server. Really the type of employee that any restaurant owner would love to have. She was bright and enthusiastic and did a fabulous job going over the menu. We sampled some of the beers brewed on site: a blonde, Pistolville Porter and a mix of red ale and said porter. All were very good. In addition, they carry nice selection of craft beers and wine. To eat we had pretzel sticks and beer cheese. So good and filling that you really don't need any more. My husband had a Turkey Reuben and I had a bowl of soup with broccoli salad. If lunch is any indication, my money is that dinner is pretty stellar. After we were done we checked out the beer garden and brewery, which was now open. We chatted with the owner who was so very nice. Apparently they do music there in the evening. We are definitely looking forward to coming back for dinner and music. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. This is the type of establishment that I wish I lived a bit closer as I would probably be a regular.

I really love their salmon salad and the food is fresh and mostly tasty but boy oh boy do they have a problem in the kitchen. Even on a busy Saturday it should not take over an hour for a salad and a flatbread. The three other tables next to us also waited an hour and we didn't see any food come out between us and the four 15 minutes-later hamburgers. Even worse, the server knew this was happening before we arrived and should've warned us. Nope. He let us sit down and wait... The server was nice enough but clearly untrained and was filling in from bartending. He brought new glasses for an hour's worth of water refills and didn't remove the old ones. I then had to move them and some of the hour's worth of dishes around to make room on the table to fill out the credit card slip. The big mess on the table spoke the overall lack of professionalism. Magically our food appeared right away when we asked for the check for the drinks and apps as we were starving and decided to go to McDonald's. At least they comp'd the drinks and apps. And offered free desserts to the this-steak-is-terrible folks at the next table. We heard somebody in the kitchen shout out "one person is ruining it for everybody". That was indeed correct. There may have been 2 or 3 people ruining it for everybody. Get your act together folks! You could be great.

On a recent jaunt to Mt Dora, we stopped in this little place just to see what it was... It's a small brewery with a cozy little barn-like taproom. I loved the feel of the place. No ceiling... just a bevy of wooden beams, a skylight, antique fixtures here and there. They make several beers, from dark to light. We tired the beer flight which contained 8 selections (blonde, red, porters, and combinations thereof) for a reasonable price. Some were better than others, but overall it was a good tasting experience. Everyone we encountered was very friendly, and the house band was very fitting. A folky cover band, complete with a fiddle/violin and some older fellas playing to the crowd. My lovely friend and I slow danced to an earnest version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"! Cool place to check out if you're in the area.

I went to this brewery while visiting my bf in leesburg. We saw the beer garden in the back so we decided to enjoy our drinks outside. We ordered the sampler so we could decide what we liked. I prefer lighter ales and my bf likes stouts so it's perfect if you have different taste. I really recommend the beer cheese & pretzel! They make their own sauce that has a little kick but not too spicy.

We stopped in here for lunch after a visit to the Reninger's Flea Market. My husband had a HUGE pulled pork BBQ sandwich, my son the kid's flatbread cheese pizza, and I had the best turkey reuben in my life. Seriously, this was sliced off the bird turkey..no processed lunch meat here! We also tried 4 of their beers, we each had half and then switched. All good beers, several were unfiltered. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the atmosphere. We were on the restaurant side as the brewery side didn't open until 3p. We were literally the only people there. There was no music or anything. BUT the service was great and hey...we got the window table with no problems! We will most certainly return!

Aok. We strolled in about 230 pm on a Tuesday to an empty room and a friendly owner. The food was fantastic and appropriately priced. The beer was interesting, yet lacking subtlety. We tried the flight of 6 beers and we enjoyed all of them. The porter (10.2% abv) was a fantastic specimen which truly exemplified the dry porter style. The French fries were outstanding, as we're the house made kettle chips. One weird thing, we found this place on yelp and mentioned that to the owner. In hindsight that was a huge mistake because then the sob stories started. - Jeff, great place. You don't need to justify anything to anybody. Keep up the good work!

Was in Leesburg visiting and searched around for a cool place to go for my birthday. I've never been to a brewery so was excited to try some of the beers. Was sadly disappointed when all 6 of the in house brews were heavy, sweet ales or porters with very high ABVs. We sampled the red ale and it was so thick and brown sugary we couldn't even finish a sample between the two of us. We asked about the "visiting" beers and where they were brewed and the bartender had no idea. We settled for 2 of the visiting beers which were less than adequate. Basically if you don't like porters you can choose miller lite, blue moon or an IPA that isn't very good. I love IPAs so was very disappointed. Another customer was complaining to the owner that the beer was flat, the owner said, "No it's not flat, I don't put much carbonation in my beer. I don't like to belch." Really?? We were hungry and decided on the salmon wellington that is stuffed with crabmeat, however the bartender whisked by and took our menu and never asked if we'd like to order. Once we finally caught the eye of another employee, we paid our check and left 2 half glasses of beer on the bar and went to find somewhere who actually wanted to serve us dinner. Very disappointing visit.

Been going to this place since they opened. A must for me every time I am in Mt Dora. Great live music, good beer, good food, great people. The owner and his staff make you feel welcome. Always a great time !!!!!. Tip: Check out the house band the Brewery Boys, the owner and some of his buddies.

This is a Must Stop when traveling Near or to Mt Dora. The lunch menu is great and the pretzel bread sticks and beer cheese is to die for. Really good!! Returned later that evening to hear a live guitarist and drink some more great brew. The owners are wonderful people. Good hardworking people. Gotta respect them to be able to follow a dream. Coming back real soon. Albert and Jenny

I had Monday off and was looking for someplace new and stumbled upon the Rocking Rabbit.... and it was awesome. I came in about 11:00 AM and was the only customer and was a little fearful about a place with no customers. My fears were quickly swept away as I met the owner at the door and he gave me a tour and I chose to sit in the beer garden. I found it to be "trashy Chic" and I loved it. He spent several minutes making sure that I understood the beer offerings and I too chose the sampler. I have to say I LOVED each and every one. They were kind enough to bring them out in three's so that they would be cold and tasty. I ordered the Turkey Rubin with chips which was prepared by the very cute redhead server pulling double duty (sorry I forgot her name) and it was awesome and I had no idea the chips would be homemade and they were hands down the best homemade chips I have ever had as past experiences were usually burnt. I really liked this place and cannot wait to try a weekend with a band and friends. Keep up the good work and don't change a thing Jeff. See you again soon.
